Hi!!! I'm a little nervous, but excited to start posting these songs! ;)

Hi, my name's Nikki and my 2011-2012  New Years Resolution is to write 100 songs.  My Songwriting teacher told us that you usually want to 'toss out' the first 100 songs that you write because they usually aren't that good. But through writing them you become a better songwriter and it takes your music to a whole new level. I am really excited and a little scared-writing music is a very personal thing. You know you put a lot of time and thought and heart into each song. I know that I'm just an amateur right now and I have got a long way to go.  However, I am so excited for what I'll learn through this process and I can't wait to look back and see how much I've grown!

As I've talked with some friends who are helping me with this, we decided that it would be fun to have people "Vote" on their favorite song and after the 100 songs are finished, we'll submit the most popular one to be professionally recorded. Most of these songs are still in rough draft form so I appreciate any of  your ideas to make them better!

I look at this as an EXPERIENCE first and foremost. I don't know how it will turn out- My DREAM is to be able to write songs that play on the radio that people can really relate to and that lifts them up. I'm so grateful to the countless artists that have done that for me. There are so many moments I've turned on the radio to hear just what I needed at that very moment. I love it!!!  But regardless of how this journey turns out-I'm just excited  to SHARE  it with all you wonderful people that I love and can learn from! Thank you for listening!
